The Center for Coastal Solutions (CCS) in the UF Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering develops and delivers the best available science and technology for use by decision makers to improve water quality, restore ecosystems and build coastal resilience. The CCS focuses on driving impacts in three program areas: 1) optimizing water quality investment and management decisions; 2) forecasting coastal hazards; and 3) nature-based solutions for coastal resilience.
This week, we’re excited to take you behind the scenes of one of CCS’ field expeditions! The team is on the ground at Tyndall Air Force Base carrying out a seagrass enhancement project designed to promote resilience in a military installation. This effort is part of a larger living shorelines initiative and is being carried out in collaboration with The Nature Conservancy, Jacobs, and the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory, with support from The Nature Conservancy.
Stay tuned for updates from the field!
