LimnoTech: Enhancing Coastal Resilience in Great Lakes Communities

LimnoTech is collaborating with the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative, the Coastal States Organization, NOAA, the National Fish & Wildlife Foundation, and project partners Dewberry and Smith Group to enhance coastal resilience in Great Lakes communities.

The team’s work has focused on:

  • Identifying and prioritizing local projects to receive restoration funding
  • Providing technical expertise to conceptualize and design project features
  • Increasing waterfront resilience
  • Improving aquatic and nearshore habitat
  • Supporting capacity building
  • Addressing public safety, access, and infrastructure concerns

Engineering With Nature principles and nature-based solutions are integral to our approach to creating coastal resilience. Strong partnerships and coordination with each community’s city officials, representatives, and stakeholders are critical to progress and successful outcomes.

To date, our work has touched Great Lakes communities in Michigan, Indiana, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and New York.
