From Brazil to France to California, the Center for Coastal Climate Resilience (CCCR) is advancing global conversations on climate and coastal resilience via innovative communications:
COP30 (Belém, Brazil)

In November, CCCR leaders will attend the UN Climate Change Conference COP30, a conference that will spotlight Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) and Nature-based Solutions (NbS). These strategies will link climate action and biodiversity conservation for more sustainable, effective adaptation.
UN Ocean Conference (Nice, France)

This past June, CCCR faculty and fellows joined 15,000+ leaders from around the world to focus on ocean conservation and resilience. In partnership with groups like AXA Research Fund, Liverpool FC, ORRAA, Fondation Tara Oceán, and PML, our team highlighted climate risk, insurance, and the resilience benefits of coastal habitats — including immersive visualizations of coral reef and mangrove projects.

VizLab (UC Santa Cruz)

In May, we hosted a hands-on workshop on Visualizing Coastal Climate Resilience, bringing together visualization experts, climate scientists, and communicators to explore emerging tools — from cloud-native geospatial platforms to immersive Unreal Engine experiences — to make climate risk data more intuitive, engaging, and actionable.
Together, these gatherings showcase the collaborative innovation needed to accelerate resilience and climate solutions at scale.
