Conserving the lands and waters on which all life depends.

Our Mission

The Nature Conservancy is a global conservation organization dedicated to conserving the lands and waters on which all life depends. Guided by science, we create innovative, on-the-ground solutions to the world’s toughest challenges so that nature and people can thrive together. We are tackling climate change, conserving lands, waters and oceans at unprecedented scale, providing food and water sustainably and helping make cities more sustainable. Working in all 50 states and the U.S. territories, we use a collaborative approach that engages local communities, governments, the private sector, and landowners. TNC is engaged with federal, regional, state, and local entities to enable investment in nature as an important strategy to reduce flood risk. We work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, conduct science that informs and guides this work, and work with communities and others to implement nature-based infrastructure investments to address environmental challenges and deliver biodiversity and other environmental, social, and economic benefits.
