Partner Takeover: The Science and Resilience Institute at Jamaica Bay

The Science and Resilience Institute at Jamaica Bay (SRIJB) is excited to introduce ourselves and our work through this social media takeover with our partners at N-EWN.

The SRIJB supports inclusive and equitable planning and decision-making for climate adaptation and environmental stewardship in and around Jamaica Bay and the rest of New York City through research, education and stakeholder engagement. We are a CUNY-wide Institute hosted at Brooklyn College and proud to be a part of the nation’s largest urban public university system.

Formed in partnership with New York City and the Gateway National Recreation Area of the National Park Service, we focus on end-user needs while training the next generation of practitioners and innovators in nature-based solutions.

The secret ingredients to our successes are dedicated students and collaborators. Over the next few days, we will highlight some of them and the projects that they have contributed to.
