This week, we are featuring our next partner at Network for Engineering with Nature: Environmental Defense Fund, also known as EDF.
EDF started off in 1967 as a scrappy group of scientists and a lawyer fighting to save osprey from a toxic pesticide. They successfully got the pesticide banned in the United States, catapulting the group to deliver big, bold solutions to the planet’s greatest environmental challenges.
Today, EDF is one of the world’s top environmental organizations, dedicated to cutting climate pollution and strengthening the ability of people and nature to thrive. Among many initiatives, the organization works to transition to clean energy, reduce air pollution, grow food sustainability and prepare communities for increasing climate impacts, like flooding, droughts and wildfires.
EDF brings together a diverse team of policy, economic and scientific experts, years of expertise in furthering climate solutions and the determination to create a sustainable, resilient future for all. They are excited and proud to stand beside fellow partners at Network for Engineering with Nature and share a mission in advancing infrastructure solutions and improving societal wellbeing through increased value to people and ecosystems.
