Story map: At what scale does natural infrastructure make the biggest impact?

N-EWN researchers Dr. Matt Bilskie (Assistant Professor in the College of Engineering, University of Georgia) and Dr. Amanda Tritinger (Research Hydraulic Engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers) and their team of collaborators set out to find out.

It can be difficult to assess the real-world impacts of a natural infrastructure project, so the researchers used models to determine how big or small projects needed to be to have the biggest impact on flooding in coastal and riverine systems.

To help explain their process and results, the researchers developed a storymap.
