A new study by N-EWN member Dr. Craig Landry was featured by UGA Today, showing that homeowners in areas at-risk of flooding may be more likely to forego flood insurance if there is a history of “charity assistance,” or aid from a NGO or the government, after disasters. The study found that households that expected disaster aid are 25% to 42% less likely to hold flood insurance.
