If the summer heat has got you down, give the newest episodes of The Engineering With Nature Podcast a listen: hosts Sarah Thorne and Jeff King welcome Dr. Laura Wendling to discuss the opportunities and challenges of nature-based solutions in cold regions, from Alaska to Norway.
Wendling is a Senior Research Scientist at SINTEF Community in Trondheim, Norway, where she studies how climate change is affecting cold regions and how NbS can be harnessed in water management to adapt to ecosystem change. The two episodes, published July 9 and July 23, highlight multiple large- and small-scale projects around the world’s coldest places, from Alaska to Scandinavia.
“We can’t do science in secret. We should be telling everybody what we’re doing and sharing our results widely, including the things that don’t work,” Wendling said.
