Our Goals

Ducks Unlimited conserves, restores, and manages wetlands and associated habitats for North America’s waterfowl. These habitats also benefit other wildlife and people. Waterfowl conservation is facing important challenges as wetlands and other habitats are being degraded and destroyed across the continent. Ducks Unlimited has a vision to reverse this trend.

DU utilizes public and private partnerships to address the full range of factors that continue to erode waterfowl habitat across North America. The organization is volunteer-based, including conservationists and outdoor enthusiasts who live primarily throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.

As a nonprofit organization that has been engineering and deploying natural infrastructure across North America for nearly 85 years, we have seen the fragmented, independent development of a patchwork of design standards, monitoring protocols, performance criteria, and engineering training in hybrid and natural infrastructure that has hindered widespread adoption of natural infrastructure.

As the leader in wetlands conservation, DU has improved more than 18 million acres of habitat across North America.

The ultimate resource for waterfowlers.
